Stay with us and explore Addu’s Rich Biodiversity

There is no shortage of beautiful nature to explore during your stay at Equator Village. However, if you are feeling super adventurous, Addu Atoll has an abundance of untouched natural beauty. Situated in the Hithadhoo Island, a mere 20-minute car ride away from the resort, is the Addu Nature Park, featuring the country’s second largest wetlands.

The sprawling UNESCO nature park is made of the Eydhigali Kilhi wetlands and Koattey, a large area of protected and untouched land on Hithadhoo. More than 28 unique bird species visit the nature park, making it a must go destination for the avid bird watchers and general public alike. The park’s visitors’ center provides details of the birds and conducts tours of the park.

Camping in the nature park is not allowed, but visitors can bring picnics and enjoy them at the many lookout areas in the park. Visitors can also snorkel adjacent coral reefs, and spot turtles, sharks and hundreds of colourful tropical fish.

You may also canoe through the wetlands and the mangroves, providing the perfect vantage point to spot wildlife such as baby sharks, and get a workout at the same time! Stand-up paddle boards are also available.

So, what are you waiting for? Add the Addu Nature Park to your list of places to explore during your next stay at Equator Village.

We look forward to seeing you there.
